QuietApps Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 24, 2026
This policy explains how Aybilge OÜ (“we”) handles data in the QuietApps application for Android TV and Google TV (the “App”).
1. Information the App accesses
QuietApps accesses the following information to provide its features on your device:
- App usage statistics: After you grant Android’s usage access permission, the App reads which apps were used, when, and for how long. It uses this information to display last-used times, screen time, open counts, and usage charts. The “used recently” indicator is an estimate, not a live process monitor.
- Installed app information: The App displays the names, icons, package names, available version information and install source (for example Google Play, preinstalled or sideloaded) of apps that can be launched on your TV.
- Device and app resource information: The App reads memory, storage, network connection, and traffic counters made available by Android to display them locally. The details available vary by Android version, device manufacturer, and permissions.
- Local preferences: The App saves choices such as filters, sorting, protected apps, theme, language, onboarding, and the first day of the week on your device.
The App does not create a separate usage history database. It reads usage statistics from Android and processes them for display.
2. Permissions and optional extended access (ADB or Shizuku)
To see usage statistics, you must grant usage access in Android settings. You can revoke it there at any time; features that depend on usage statistics will then be unavailable.
QuietApps uses network state permission to display connection status and a system permission for local background actions where Android allows them. Android also requires INTERNET permission for QuietApps to connect to the TV’s own debugging service at 127.0.0.1:5555. This connection stays inside the TV; no data leaves the TV. To offer QuietApps Pro, the App uses Google Play’s billing permission to communicate with the Google Play app on the TV. The App does not request camera, microphone, contacts, or location permission.
Extended access is optional. QuietApps’ own ADB helper runs only on your TV, accepts requests only from QuietApps, and can run only supported management actions. On compatible TVs with USB debugging enabled and a local ADB service listening on port 5555, QuietApps can start the helper without a computer after you approve Android’s debugging prompt. Enable Automatic start in Extended access to restore the helper when you open QuietApps. These automatic connections use only a previously authorized key and do not display authorization prompts. The helper stops when the TV restarts; with this option enabled, it starts again the next time you open QuietApps, provided the local service and saved authorization are available. Stopping the helper also turns this option off. TVs offering only Wireless debugging retain the computer setup; Shizuku remains another optional way.
This grants Android shell access, not root access. Enabling debugging may allow other devices to request access to your TV. Approve only trusted requests and revoke debugging authorizations in developer options when you no longer need them.
Shizuku is a separate app and service. If you install it and separately authorize QuietApps, supported commands such as stopping a selected app, clearing its data, disabling or enabling it, clearing all app caches, closing apps running in the background (Quiet Boost), or restarting the TV can run on your device. To count the apps Quiet Boost closed, QuietApps reads the list of running processes through extended access; this list is used only on the TV and is neither stored nor sent. Clearing data, disabling an app and restarting ask for confirmation first. Per-app cache actions open Android app settings, where you complete the operation. Shizuku is optional and its own privacy terms apply.
3. Sharing, storage, and backup
The ADB authentication key is generated on the TV and stored in the App’s private, non-backed-up storage. The key, the automatic-start preference and the saved QuietApps Pro status are excluded from cloud backup and device transfer. Uninstalling the App or clearing its data deletes the key; Android’s previously granted debugging authorization can be revoked in developer options.
QuietApps contains no ads, analytics, behavioral tracking, or third-party crash reporting service. The App does not send your usage statistics to Aybilge OÜ servers or share or sell them to third parties.
Local preferences remain on your device until you clear the App’s data or uninstall it. If Android backup or device transfer is enabled, some preferences may be backed up or transferred by the operating system and your selected backup provider. Their terms govern those processes. Cache and temporary files are excluded by the App’s backup rules.
When you choose “Open in Google Play” for an app, QuietApps opens that app’s page in the Google Play Store app on your TV; it does not open a web browser or send data itself. Google Play then applies its own terms.
QuietApps is free to download. If you buy QuietApps Pro, the optional one-time in-app purchase, the Google Play app handles the purchase and payment under Google’s own privacy policy and payment terms. The QuietApps application does not access your payment card details. To know whether Pro is unlocked, QuietApps asks Google Play on the TV whether your Google account owns QuietApps Pro and confirms new purchases to Google Play, as Google requires. QuietApps keeps only whether Pro is unlocked on the TV, so that Pro also works while Google Play cannot be reached, and does not send purchase information to Aybilge OÜ.
4. When you contact us
If you email us for support, we process your email address, message, and information you choose to provide to respond to and follow up on your request. Depending on the request, we rely on performance of a contract or our legitimate interest in providing support. A legal obligation applies to records we must retain by law. We keep support correspondence until the request is resolved and afterward only for as long as required by applicable legal obligations or disputes.
You can revoke local access, clear App data, or uninstall the App through your device settings. To exercise applicable data protection rights concerning support correspondence, including access, correction, and deletion, contact [email protected]. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
5. Children
QuietApps is not designed specifically for children. The App does not create user accounts or send app usage data to Aybilge OÜ.
6. Changes and contact
